Barcelona supporters took to the streets to celebrate their second consecutive La Liga title under Hansi Flick, sealed with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid.
According to Mundo Deportivo, due to ongoing construction on La Rambla preventing access to the Canaletes fountain, fans gathered at Plaça de Catalunya to party. The crowd chanted taunts at their eternal rivals, including “Madrid… salute the champion,” and waved traffic cones while singing “Cone, stay, cone, stay” – a reference to the nickname they use for Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa.
On a difficult day for Flick, who lost his father the previous night, supporters remembered their coach with gratitude for his presence at El Clásico, reminding themselves that under him they have won five out of six domestic titles in two years.
After celebrating with the entire team at Camp Nou, Marc Casadó – who surprised fans last year by partying at Canaletes – joined Alejandro Balde at Plaça de Catalunya, mingling with the crowd as everyone sang and celebrated together.
Despite the joy, most Barcelona fans agreed the team could have scored more goals to further damage Real Madrid’s chances.
