A summer transfer move could be on the horizon for SV Werder Bremen goalkeeper Mio Backhaus, with several clubs reportedly tracking the 22-year-old shot-stopper.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have emerged as the latest suitor for Backhaus, with Sky Germany reporting that the Werkself have entered the race to secure his signature. The Bundesliga side’s current No. 1, Mark Flekken, has faced heavy scrutiny over his performances during his debut season at the club.
Brighton & Hove Albion, Inter Milan, AC Milan, SC Freiburg, and Newcastle United have also been named as potential destinations for the young goalkeeper.
According to Sky, Werder Bremen are open to discussions should any club express concrete interest in moving forward with negotiations.
